Thanks to Duncan Laurence, the Netherlands made the 5th victory in Eurovision history. Normally the winning country has the right to host the next year’s contest. Due to various reasons the upcoming contest has also been held in other countries instead.

It has been a really exciting voting procedure this year, which has been a crime until the last minute. There was a favourite from the beginning, who has won at the end – Duncan Lawrance from the Netherlands. But in many cases he would probably not have won the ESC.

In this year’s Semi Final 2 the battle was a bit stronger due to the fact that 18 countries were fighting for a slot in the Grand Final, compared to the Semi Final 1, where there were only 17 countries, the Ukraine has been withdrawn.

The results in the Semi Final 1 from this year’s Eurovision Song Contest with 17 participating countries had an expectable result. Unlike the other semi final, there were not too big discrepancies between the jury voting and televoing. Due to the fact that there is a 50/50 weighting, this is a valid mix of music professionals and the public. 

Congratulations to the Netherlands! The Netherlands have won the 64th Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv. Duncan Laurance is the new winner in the history of the ESC.
