 For the third time Georgia will be participating in the Eurovision Song Contest. Georgia had a very successful debut in 2007 with “Visionary Dream” by Sopho (12th) and one year later with “Peace will come” by Diana Gurtskaya (11th) Georgia was even more successful. Both entries qualified for the final. Last year Georgia has been disqualified from the ESC in Moscow, as the lyrics of “We don’t wanna put in” were obviously an allusion to Vladimir Putin, Georgia could have participated when changing the lyrics, but this has not happened. So it’s great to see Georgia back this year. The singer Sofia has been chosen by the Georgian television and the public was able to choose from six songs, which have been presented in a TV show. The song “Shine” has won, which was probably the best in the competition. It’s a modern ballad with a great melody which does not get out of your head. This might be a very important point during the voting process in Oslo. With this charming singer and this wonderful song a qualification to the final will be easy, and a good position is for sure. Impressing!
