Due to the fact that in recent years more and more gimmick songs entered the Eurovision Song Contest, many people complained the good quality songs with musical pretension are missing, like Dulce Pontes in 1991. She became very popular with her ambitious entry “Lusitana paixao” and came 8th. Of course, not everyone will like this kind of music, but even though this song stands out from the others. Maybe this is a kind of underdog this year! Portugal never qualified for the final since the new show system was launched in 2004. But this year, things may change. This year, there are three shows: two semi-finals and one final. Each semi-final shows 19 entries, 9 are determined via televoting into the final, and one is going to be determined by a jury! |
