For the second time the Czech Republic takes part at the Eurovision Song Contest. Unfortunately the debut last year in Helsinki was a kind of flop. The Czech Republic only received one single point! But there are debut countries without any point like Lithuania in 1994. Maybe the Czechs thought that Hard Rock would be the trend of the season, as Lordi won in Athens 2006 with Hard Rock. The Eurovision Song Contest was quite a new thing in the Czech Republic and many probably don’t know that there are all kinds of music. The neighbor country Slovakia has already taken part three times since 1996. “Have some Fun” is the 2008 entry for the Czech Republic, sung by the sexy singer Tereza Kerndlová. It’s a cool American-styled song, which does not sound Czech at all. This kind of music could also be sung by of Jennifer Lopez or Christina Aguilera. Judging by the video clip Tereza’s voice doesn’t seem to be too much suitable for live performances, but we will see how she will handle this in Belgrade. Even though it’s a very good choice of the Czech Republic. Good luck! |
