Maybe too many people were also shocked about the heavy change of music style, after Lordi brought hard rock into Eurovision. But this event has always been a big platform for different styles in all decades. ABBA was also a new and shocking music style for many, especially older people. There were musical trends in the decades, which did not survive forever, the Irish folk in the 90’s is not successful anymore, as well as the happy songs from the 80’s. The Ark has a huge amount of fans around Europe and they will certainly push Sweden into a good ranking. But the Eurovision experience taught us not to believe wining the contest with a similar song right away |
It was expected that many countries wanted to step in the success of Lordi’s winning rock song from last year. The Swedish people have decided to send The Ark to Helsinki this year. This song is a quite unusual Eurovision song from Sweden, as there were many popsongs and ballads in the Swedish final. The Ark is a very popular band in Sweden and has already celebrated success in the USA. Even if their music is hard, you can still find the melody in it.
