So this year there is another attempt to convince the TV-spectators in a different way. The song is quite extraordinary and stands out. Alenka is an opera singer and it’s obviously hearable. It’s a kind of opera-pop song, a strong melody with a glass clear opera voice accompanied by a modern rhythm and style. It’s going to be very interesting to see how this song shapes up.

Since Slovenia’s debut at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993, there is a numerous amount of Slovenian songs already. But the new method of televoting has not brought good results for Slovenia. Especially since the new two show concept has been implemented, Slovenia never made into the final. That’s a big pity, because the enthusiasm of the Slovenes is very high and the quality of the songs is generally high, too. Slovenia does not really profits of the “Balkan-connection”.
