Participant(s): Luiz Ejlli Song: Zjarr e ftohte Writer(s): Dr. Flori Composer(s): Klodian Qafoku |
This country takes part since 2004 in Istanbul. Before, music from Albania was almost unknown for the European majority. In the meantime people who followed the contest recently may have a clue of Albanian music. Traditional elements are used quite often, to continue the country's tradition. There were only female singers on Eurovision stage until now, this year there is the first male singer. Luiz Ejlli has worn a traditional costume during the preselection and he will probably do so in Athens. His song "Zjarr e Ftohte" means fire and coldness and tries to convince with fast rhythms. The big question: will the average spectator get tired of so much folklore, which is exploited by so many countries in previous years. |
