Last years song "Le'ha'amin" could not qualify for the final and the people were quite disappointed because it was one of the best songs in 2004. The group even left earlier after having failed. This year there will be a very attractive singer named Shiri Maymon with her song "Hasheket shenish'ar". It's a beautiful ballad, but we doubt that this will catch the attention by first hearing. Israel has to qualify in the semifinal - and only 10 from 25 country will qualify! The competition is extremely high. Shalom Israel! |
Geographically Israel does not belong to Europe, but it is already member of the EBU sind decades and therefore allowed to take part in the Eurovision Song Contest. Three times Israel was the victory and there were always great and high quality song. Lots of great artists took part like Rita with "Shara Barechovot" (1990 in Zagreb), Izhar Cohen with "A-ba-ni-bi" (1978 in Paris) and with "Ole Ole" (1985 in Gothenburg) or Ofra Haza with "Hi" (1983 in Munich).
