Participant: Tomas Thordarson Song: Shame on you (Sig det' løgn) Writer(s): Ivar Lind Greiner Composer(s): Ivar Lind Greiner |
Usually the Danish public is highly interested in the Eurovision Song Contest. The constant success over the recent years has shown that Denmark has a lively and international compatible music scene. Unforgotten the Eurovision held in Copenhagen 2001 (a venue so huge that even the famous commentator for the BBC, Terry Woghan, wasn't able to see the stage during the contest) - the Danish public was in complete Eurovision heat! Everywhere in restaurants and on the streets that years entry "Never Ever Let You Go" was sung by people in the mood to party! So obviously they were very disappointed when their entry 2002 "Tell Me Who You Are" sung by Malene only became last with only 7 points. 2003 Denmark wasn't allowed to participate at all and this year they have to get though the Qualifying Round first in order to participate in the Grand Final on Saturday. Still for the 10 countries who get trough that round it might prove to be an advantage as their song will be heard twice internationally! This year the Danish national final took place in Aarhus and singer Tomas Thordanson was able to win with his song "Sig det' lögn" ("Say It's A Lie"). Denmark has already sent a quite similar title to the Contest 1986 in Bergen "Du Er Fuld Af Lögn" ("You Are Full Of Lies") which came 6th. This years entry is a catchy latino influenced song. |
