Participant: Lior Narkis Song: Many words for love Writer(s): Yossi Gispan Composer(s): Yoni Ro'en |
Israel belongs to Eurovision like the scoreboard belongs to the voting, because there have been a lot of hits over the years, for example "Hallelujah" (1979) by Gali Atari & Milk and Honey and "Diva" (1998) by Dana International. The songs have often been traditional rhythmic with a typical choreography, which always brought a touch of folklore to Eurovision. Also in this year there will be something traditional. The 27 years old singer Lior Nakis is going to sing "Many words of Love" on May, 24th in Riga. His music style leans on the one of Sarit Hadad, who has been quite successful with "Light a candle together" last year in Tallinn. Lior is also relatively successful and has released four albums. Strictly said there are two Israeli entries this year: the first one from Israel, the second one from the Ukraine, because the composer Svika Pick of the Ukrainian contribution is Israeli and has written "Diva" in 1998. |
