 Russia takes part at the Eurovision family since 1994 in Dublin. The quality of the Russian songs is generally better than expected. We all can't forget Alsou's appearance in Stockholm with her song "Solo". There is a strong western influence in the songs. There were 11.742 songs send to the organizing TV company ORT this year. The song "Northern Girl" will be sung in English and should support the meaning of women from Northern Europe. This year Russia will be represented by the boygroup with the strange name "Prime Minister". The members of the band come from different regions in Russia and have also different nationalities: Moldavian, Kenyan-Russian, Tatar and Gypsy. That's why the musical preferences are also different, they like r'n'b, jazz and soul. Prime Minister would like to attract not only the young Europeans, but also the mature audience. The modern arrangement of the song and the good melody will secure a good position on Saturday. |
