Participant: Marie N Song: I wanna Writer(s): Marija Naumova & Marats Samauskis Composer(s): Marija Naumova (Marie N) |
Latvia is also a relatively new country at the Eurovision Song Contest. Latvia made its debut in 2000 in Stockholm with the meanwhile popular band Brainstorm and their song "My star". They were on the 3rd rank. The entry from last year was poor and ended up somewhere beyound. Marie N tries to get a good position for Latvia this year. Her song "I wanna" doesn't sound like a typical song from Latvia. The Mexican influence is obviously. Rumors say that the song is copied from Ricky Martin's "She bang". It is a happy song, which sureley has the potential getting a summer hit throughout Europe. But in the rehearsals the voice was a little bit weak. Marie N normally sings in Latvian, Russian and English. She already sang songs in Spanish and French. The choreography is elaborated, the appearance is quite extraordniary wearing white hats. The bettings see Latvia on the 9th rank (2002-05-20). To our opinion this song could really have a chance to win. The history showed us that there are winning songs, with nobody expected to win. With the second last start position they will be in the mind of the tv-specators, especiall the English will get home from the pubs after eleven, and so on and so on... See you in Riga 2003! |
