![]() There are three go's for the people from Bremen - a German proverb says. Bremen is the home town of Corinna May. As she was disqualified after winning the national preselection in Germany with "Hör den Kindern einfach zu", she was very disappointed. She tried it a second time and was 2nd. This year her dream of Eurovision came true: she won with the majority of the votes in the Ostseehalle in Kiel. Germany has only once won the Eurovision Song Contest - in 1982 with Nicole's "A little peace". Even though, Germany was among the top 3 for so many times in the history of Eurovision. Exactly 20 years ago, Nicole has been on the stage of Harrogate on the 18th starting place, as well as Corinna this year starts as 18th country. Hopefully this is a lucky posiition for Corinna. Corinna has a very strong voice, and wherever she is, she likes to sing sponatnously, f.e. on the German party. She is blind! That's new in a Eurovision. Of course, it will be a hard job for her, not seeing anything. But she spreads out lots of life energy, strength and happiness, which should be honoured by all of us. But there are still a lot of bad tongues, who like to derides her a lot. Of course, every artist has to get along with critics, but the way they show her - always in a disadvantagious way - is neither critical nor funny! It's unfair and a shame. Even if Corinna doesn't move on stage anymore, she will be accompanied by some lovely background singers and dancers. Good luck Germany |
