Participant: Friends Song: Listen to your heartbeat Writer(s): Thomas G´son & Henrik Sethsson Composer(s): Thomas G´son & Henrik Sethsson |
Sweden is represented by the group “Friends” this year, which was founded in 1999 especially to participate at the Eurovision Song Contest. But in that year they didn’t reach the international final, Charlotte Nilsson succeeded in an adorable way and brought back the contest to Sweden in 2000. The song “Listen to your heartbeat” sounds like a typical Swedish Eurovision song, a little bit of ABBA, a little bit of Carola, a little bit of everything. Even if the arrangement is quite modern, the song has some “cheap” phases which really sounds like typical “schlager”. There were rumors that this song has similarities to the Belgian entry 1996 “Love Is Like A Card-game” sung by Lisa del Bo. In 1999 Friends recorded their first album. They are highly voted by the bookmakers and may coming back to Sweden as a winner! But who wants to listen to the 22nd ABBA-remake? |
