Participant: Skamp Song: You got style Writer(s): Erica Jennings, Victor Diavara and Vilius Alesius Composer(s): Victor Diavara |
The Lithuanian group “Skamp” got popular with a cover-version of George Gershwin’s “Summertime” from the Porgy & Bess musical. The group itself is quite cosmopolitan the lead singer Erica Jennings is originally from Ireland, Victor Diavara comes from Mali – Vilius Alesius is the only real Lithuanian. There is a new sound coming from the former Soviet Republic: Hip Hop. The group Skamp brings a totally fresh and innovative image into Eurovision. The lyrics of their song “You got style” doesn’t concern about fashion only – there is a social-critical meaning. The Lithuanian entry this year is one the most modern songs of the festival. |
