Participant: Michelle Song: Wer Liebe lebt (To live for love) Writer(s): Eva Richter Composer(s): Gino Trovatello & Matthias Stingl |
The 29 years old singer Michelle is going to represent Germany at Eurovision in Copenhagen. The song “Wer Liebe Lebt” (To live for love) is a wonderful ballad which sounds like a song taken from a musical. It’s not her first attempt to get into the international final. She already appeared in the pre-selection in 1996 with “Im Auge des Orkans”. Michelle is a very attractive young lady who also has a lot of self-confidence. She started her singing career 10 years ago and is well known in the German music industry. Michelle appears regularly in TV-shows and festivals. Her greatest dream became reality on March 2nd in Hanover, when she won the German pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. She set a new quality standard in this event. In the last years a lot of joke-songs where send to the pre-decision. The effect was a show with very low standard of quality. Serious songs where in the minority. Michelle’s real name is Tanja Hewer, she is living in Cologne and has two lovely children. She has already been married with the famous German singer Matthias Reim. The German press was quite radical, agitated against her especially with her private life. The German TV-news-magazin “TV-Total” (Stefan Raab ESC 2000), brought real bad rumors about her. Even if Michelle takes it easily, we think that this is far away from good taste and should be dammed. After all, Germany sends a good singer with class and style to Eurovision – Michelle is pretty and looks great in her red dress! She is going to sing the second part of her song in English. The chances to win this year a moderate. |
