Introduction

There has been a big national final this year in Moldova. The quite well known singer Pasha Parfeny could convince the TV viewers and jury. The song “Lautar” is a quite mid tempo song with a cool atmosphere. With the right choreography and stage show this song could qualify for the grand final again like the years before. Moldova will start on a very comfortable starting position in the first semi final – number 17, which is always, be seen as a lucky starting position.

History

Moldova takes part in the Eurovision Song Contest since 2005 and this year it will be the 8^th time. The debut song “Boonika Bate Toba” by Zdob si Zdub has made the best place in the ESC history for Moldova – the 6^th place! From that great start Moldova made it mostly in into the grand final, only one year in 2008 they did not make it. Moldova benefits greatly from the neighbour countries votes. Often the singers are also well known in the countries around Moldova. The most outstanding songs were: “Fight” by Natalia Barbu in 2007 (10^th), “Hora Din Moldova” by Nelly Ciobanu in2009 (14^th) and “So Lucky” by Zdob si Zdub again in 2011 (12^th).
